How our placement works

Our placement system combines efficiency with genuine personal insight.

1. Short placement test
   A concise online test gives an accurate picture of grammar and general understanding. It’s designed for adults and takes only a few minutes to complete.
2. Brief spoken assessment
   A teacher follows up with a short conversation, either in person or online, to gauge fluency, pronunciation and listening. Local students who attend a free trial morning (09:55 – 13:00) are assessed before joining their class, ensuring the right fit from the outset.
3. Level confirmed + class assigned
   We confirm placement and recommend the most suitable option - Full-time (15 hours), Part-time (9 hours) or a 1-to-1 add-on - so that every student starts learning with confidence.

Result: each learner joins a class where they can contribute and progress from day one.

The personal plan

Once placed, each student receives a short, practical plan outlining their level, aims and key focus areas. It defines what success will look like for them - from conversational fluency to professional accuracy - and how we’ll help them achieve it.

The plan is deliberately simple and adult-focused: learners always know what they are working towards, and teachers can adjust emphasis as progress builds.
