In 2026, there were 4 Fam Trips organised around our flagship event the IALC Workshop which took place in Salerno, Italy, with all IALC accredited Italian language schools taking part.

Fam Trip 1

A Pre-Workshop Fam Trip to Napoli

From 15–16 April, Accademia Italiana Napoli welcomed selected educational agents from Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Slovenia, Germany, Poland, and Canada for a dedicated FAM Trip designed to offer a first-hand experience of the school and the cultural richness of Naples.

The program began with a guided city tour, introducing participants to Naples through the insights of a local expert, followed by a traditional dinner that encouraged networking and cultural exchange.

The following day focused on the school itself. A cultural walk led by the school director set the context before a visit to the premises, where agents explored the facilities, met staff, and learned more about the educational approach. A marketing seminar highlighted programs, target markets, and opportunities for collaboration, followed by an informal aperitivo that encouraged open discussion.

The group then continued their journey to Salerno for further activities with Accademia Italiana. Overall, the FAM Trip strengthened relationships, deepened partners’ understanding of the school’s offer, and showcased the unique cultural and educational value of the region.

Fam Trip 2

A Fam Trip to Rome, Siena & Florence

On Fam Trip 2, a group of 10 agents enjoyed a whirlwind journey through some of Italy’s most iconic and beautiful cities, blending cultural discovery with valuable school visits.

Their experience began in Rome with a guided walking city tour, which covered some of the most iconic sights; Piazza di Spagna with the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and Campo de’ Fiori, – and was particularly appreciated by our group of agents. This walking experience is designed to combine storytelling, history, and the vibrant atmosphere of the city center. A key moment of the day was the scenic stop at the Gianicolo Hill, one of Rome’s most panoramic viewpoints, where agents enjoyed a wine tasting accompanied by local food specialties.

In the evening, the experience continued in Trastevere with a food tour and a traditional Roman pizza dinner, – a more informal and authentic culinary moment in one of the city’s most characteristic neighborhoods. The day concluded with a “Rome by night” stroll through the illuminated streets and monuments of the Eternal City, offering a magical and memorable atmosphere.

The next day was dedicated entirely to educational tourism, with visits to the two schools in Rome. DILIT International House and Centro Linguistico Italiano Dante Alighieri, provided agents with an in-depth look into academic environments, programs, and facilities, as well as opportunities for international collaboration and exchange within the education sector.

Travelling onward to Siena, the group explored the medieval city on foot and shared a memorable dinner and cooking experience at Dante Alighieri Siena. A further visit the next morning deepened their understanding of the school’s approach.

Upon arrival in Florence, agents enjoyed a guided city tour and dinner on a beautiful terrace, overlooking Florence’s historic city centre. The trip concluded with an enlightening visit to Linguaviva Florencewhere a light lunch and discussions brought this culturally rich and professionally rewarding journey to a close.

Fam Trip 3

A Fam Trip to Tropea & Taormina

On Fam Trip 3, a select group of agents explored the Southern Italian towns of Tropea and Tormina with hosting schools Piccola Università Italiana and Babilonia – Italian Language School.

Perched dramatically above the Tyrrhenian Sea, Tropea immediately revealed its charm: a medieval town suspended above crystal-clear waters, where language learning feels inseparable from daily life. The group’s first welcome to Calabria took place at an exclusive former monastery overlooking Tropea, offering breathtaking views across turquoise waters toward the Aeolian Islands. Over lunch, guests met the Founder of Piccola Università Italiana and Managing Director together with the Teaching Coordinator, gaining insight into the school’s philosophy of personal care, academic quality, and authentic cultural immersion.

From the harbour, a sailing excursion revealed Tropea from its most spectacular perspective before participants were warmly welcomed at Piccola Università Italiana for a lively Italian lesson, offering a joyful glimpse into student life and the school’s welcoming atmosphere.

As evening settled, dinner by the harbour unfolded against the illuminated backdrop of Tropea rising above the sea. Live Italian music soon transformed dinner into celebration, with beloved Italian songs filling the air. Songbooks were shared, guests joined in singing in Italian, and before long, music, dancing, and shared laughter captured the warmth, spontaneity, and unmistakable spirit of Southern Italy.

A walking tour of Tropea, lunch in picturesque Scilla, and gelato in Reggio Calabria completed a journey that perfectly showcased Calabria’s beauty, hospitality, and unforgettable charm. The next day, agents enjoyed a walking tour of Tropea before continuing on to Taormina, where panoramic views and elegant piazzas set the scene. A visit to Babilonia – Italian Language School and its innovation hub highlighted the destination’s educational offering in a truly inspiring setting.

Feedback from the group was particularly enthusiastic. Agents remarked on how clean, safe, and welcoming Taormina feels—an important consideration for their students—along with its authentic Sicilian atmosphere and unique blend of culture, sea, and local lifestyle. The school’s warm environment, organisation, and exceptional location also stood out, clearly distinguishing it from many other destinations and institutions they have visited.

A terrace lunch at Grand Hotel Timeo and a walk through the ancient Teatro Antico di Taormina showcased Sicily’s history against the backdrop of sea and Mount Etna, providing an inspiring finale to a professionally and culturally enriching journey.

Fam Trip 4

A Fam Trip to Bologna & Trieste

Fam Trip 4 started in Bologna visiting the new premises of ALCE School, an historic building which boasts impressive bright and elegant classrooms.  Moving onto the terrace, agents enjoyed a welcome drink and toasted together with a typical Bolognese aperitivo. Agents were treated to a cookery lesson in the school kitchen, where they learned the basis of the Bolognese culinary art.

The following day, agents visited some shared apartments close to the school, giving them an idea of a students’ life in Bologna. The morning continued with a guided tour in the historical centre of Bologna, followed by a farewell lunch in a typical Bolognese restaurant before making their way to Trieste, – a lively seaside university city with an international spirit and welcoming student feel.

Before reaching Trieste, participants stopped at the stunning Castello di Spessa in the Collio wine region, where a guided visit through historic underground wine cellars was followed by a professional tasting of Friulian wines and a memorable dinner of regional specialities at the castle’s osteria.

The following day revealed Trieste at its sunniest best. From the spectacular Miramare Castle, perched above the Adriatic Sea, participants enjoyed breathtaking views and quickly understood why students fall in love with this elegant, safe, and vibrant university city by the sea.

Following a marketing meeting at Piccola Università Italiana, guests experienced a lively Italian lesson, offering a joyful glimpse into student life. A walking tour introduced Trieste’s unique blend of Habsburg elegance and Italian charm, while at historic Caffè Tommaseo, participants embraced the city’s spirited local toast: “Viva!”

The journey ended at a stylish seafood restaurant by the sea, where breathtaking views of the Adriatic, the famous Bora wind, excellent cuisine, and even spontaneous salsa dancing perfectly captured Trieste’s youthful, cosmopolitan, and vibrant spirit.
