IH Newcastle has moved into bigger and very prestigious new premises. This fantastic new location is just around the corner from the old school which means it is still within walking distance of Charlotte House, IH Newcastle’s 108-bedroom student accommodation.
The building is grade 1 and grade 2 listed (meaning it is very important both historically and architecturally). With 17 classrooms and a very large PSP suite (Personal Study Programme) on the top floor the new premises are three times as big as the old school. This will enable IH Newcastle to develop and grow by accepting more groups, running more teacher training courses and giving both clients and staff the space they deserve!
The excellent new location is even better than before as the school is now on one of the main thoroughfares of Newcastle’s city centre making it much more visible. Close to all the main bus routes and metro lines, it is perfectly situated for students in Charlotte House and in homestay accommodation.
The main reason for the move was because the school had outgrown the old premises as they were designed for a much lower number of students. Being a listed building the new premises also have a unique charm which is an added attraction for both agents and clients alike.
Trevor Udberg, Managing Director of International House Newcastle, explains:
“International House Newcastle has developed a good reputation for its standards in teaching, accommodation and welfare. Now we have premises which reflect and enhance those high standards. We are all absolutely delighted to be working in this wonderful and prestigious building”
